Originally from Eastern Oregon Aaron attended a small Midwestern college in Northern Indiana and graduated with a double major in business and computers. Aaron was inspired to enter the financial services field through watching his parents and grandparents prudently use their resources on their small family ranch. Since beginning his service career in 1996 Aaron has gained considerable experience in the financial services industry.

All of Aaron’s clients have experienced his customer service attitude which is a result of his dad always reminding him, “son, when you start something you finish it.” Aaron received the Certified Financial Planner ® designation in 1999 and has completed a Masters Degree in Financial Planning. In 2006 Aaron jumped at the opportunity to get back to his roots and use his skills to assist farmers and ranchers on the best use of their limited resources. Today Aaron works with livestock operations implementing risk management programs (drought, price, margin protection). Aaron lives in Aurora, CO and has experience advising operations in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and California.

Aaron earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Grace College located in Winona Lake, Indiana in May of 2004. Woolman Financial Group specializes in financial planning for individuals and families. During his internship, Aaron developed a strong passion for helping people understand the “bigger” financial picture. He decided to try things out at Silveus the next year.

Aaron earned his Property and Casualty license in December of 2002 and began an internship with Silveus Insurance Group throughout the next sales season. Aaron realized that he was really making a difference for the American farmer after his first year with Silveus. Aaron is now in his 11th year with the agency and has over 70 clients throughout the Midwest, ranging from Eastern Nebraska to Western Ohio. He lives in Warsaw with his wife Treasure and their three children, Gavin, Garrett and Lena.

Get to know Beth in her Meet The Team feature!   SIG-Button-LearnMore

Growing up on her family farm in the southern Illinois, Beth Armstrong discovered two of her passions in life early on: serving people and agriculture. After serving as the Illinois FFA State Secretary, Beth went onto attend the University of Illinois majoring in Agricultural Education & Leadership. While in college, Beth interned for the Illinois State 4-H Office, National 4-H Council and AgriGold Hybrids. Upon graduation, Beth joined the marketing team of AgriGold Hybrids managing the company’s intern program and various marketing programs across AgriGold’s 14 state territory.

After meeting her husband Todd Armstrong, a southern Indiana native, she found opportunities to pursue a career in their small town within agriculture limited. She took a position starting a grass roots non-profit for youth and families who were at-risk, Youth First. During her 5 years as the Director of Youth First, Beth grew the organization from the ground up to an organization which now serves over 200 youth and families and under her leadership merged with the Washington County Family YMCA. Beth most recently served as the CEO of the Washington County Family YMCA.

While Beth’s love for supporting young people was strong she found herself missing her roots in agriculture and working with farmers. Beth made the decision to move to insurance joining the Silveus Insurance team selling Crop Insurance and Knapp-Miller-Brown Insurance Services focusing on AgriBusiness and Farm Insurance. Beth’s background growing up on a farm and working in the agriculture industry gives her a unique position when working with those in agriculture as someone who has been in their shoes and understands the complex risks on today’s farm and agribusinesses. Beth’s professional experiences while diverse have always had three things in common: (1) A desire to serve people. (2) Promoting a product or service to benefits others. (3) Combining her professional experience with her passions in life.

Beth enjoys spending time with her husband Todd and their children, Parker, Mason, Jack and Charlie. The Armstrong’s can be found in the bleachers weekly cheering one of the kids on in a sport or taking them to a 4-H or FFA event. Beth currently serves on the Washington County Cooperative Extension Council, Washington County Family YMCA Board and volunteers as a coach and 4-H club leader. When not at a practice, meeting or game, their family enjoys spending time on the farm where they raise purebred Angus cattle, volunteering with local organizations to promote agriculture and supporting young people. They are members of Southern Hills Church in Salem.

Get to know Brad in his Meet The Team feature!   SIG-Button-LearnMore

Originally from Kalamazoo, MI, I grew up in a family with long history in large-scale greenhouse production. Moving to Florida for college, I graduated with a Bachelors of Science from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2006. It was there that I met my wife, then Erin Silveus. Married soon after, we put roots down close to Erin’s family. We had our son, Emmett, in April of 2014.

In 2011, after multiple years working in Information Technology and Analysis, I was approached by Scott, Cam, and Tyler Silveus about joining the family business. The first few years that I spent with Silveus Insurance Group were actually being a part of the team that designed, coded, and built much of the software that all SIG agents use for their risk management decisions. After demonstrating a deep understanding of strengths and weaknesses of the wide spectrum of risk management policies and products, I transitioned into an agent role and have been in that position for 3 years.

I’m licensed in multiples states from Nebraska to Ohio. Because my approach and toolset are more analytical than most, it has proven to be effective for producers of wide ranging commodities and area. However, I am fundamentally people-first and understand that it is the producer’s goals and concerns for their operation that must drive our risk strategy. I’m excited by the opportunity to work with growers that are new to Silveus Insurance Group because we are uniquely positioned at the forefront of what is possible with protecting farm interests. I also believe SIG as a company will continue to forge ahead in the upcoming years to hold fast to that position. My goal is that the farmers and ranchers I work with have clarity on their current protection and risk, while remaining at the front of the pack and informed on new opportunities.

You could say that Thomas is the “proud father” of the new Rangeland Insurance programs offered by the USDA. After all, it was his vision and determination that helped bring the idea to fruition. Believing that the ranching industry needed an insurance program to protect livestock producers against drought, he partnered with Cameron Silveus, vice president of Silveus Insurance Group, to present the idea to key people in the industry, academia, and government over a six-year period. In 2000, Max presented his ideas to the Texas A&M faculty, and they built on his initial idea to develop the USDA program offered today. Aside from his expertise and unique work history in both insurance and production, Max’s sense of humor, “down-home” charm, and ability to make the complex simple make him an ideal interviewee—and a guest that listeners love. He’s been a guest on hundreds of radio shows speaking on topics ranging from finance and insurance to cotton and beef cattle. His 30-year career spans areas such as finance, farming, insurance, and private consulting. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in animal science from West Texas A&M, he entered the world of finance. He spent the first 15 years of his career as an agricultural lender/banker, helping producers package land, operating, and equipment loans. In 1985, when he realized that his customers were willing to pay more for his services than his employer was, Max launched into private consulting. Consulting continues to be a big part of what he does today. In 1999, he decided to add insurance to his menu of client services. He became an agent for Silveus Insurance Group, one of the foremost agricultural insurance agencies in the nation, and opened an insurance office in Lubbock, Texas. Max says he’s farmed ever since he was “big enough to crawl up on a tractor” and has been involved in farming and ranching for over 30 years. He owns two farms in West Texas and resides in rural Haskell County.

He later served two years in 1984 and 1985 as the Executive Secretary of Texas Brangus Breeders Association, headquartered at the time in College Station, Texas.

In 1986, Michael moved to San Antonio, Texas to accept a fieldman position with Texas Farm & Ranch News. Later in that year, he married his wife of 23 years, Lauren. This event has grown into one of the premier annual events in the cattle industry with buyers coming from as far West as Arizona and as far East as Florida.

Michael is also involved in a family-owned purebred Charolais cattle ranch near LaRue, Texas, just east of Athens, selling primarily range bulls and herd sire prospects through an annual sale as well as private treaty.

Olivia was born and raised in Ohio where she learned the value of an honest day’s work and being a good neighbor. She also proudly spent 15 years as a military spouse, which took her family on many adventures and replanted them every few years in locations all over America. Olivia grew particularly fond of the time she lived in the South (in five different southern states!) and chose to put roots down in gorgeous North Carolina where she likes to go outside to hike, chase waterfalls, and enjoy the breathtaking mountain views every chance she gets.
No matter where she lives, Olivia always carries with her the ideals she learned in the Midwest, that a good name and reputation are your most treasured possessions. That mantra is one of the many reasons she is so proud to work for Silveus Southeast, an industry leader built on integrity and dedicated to enriching the lives of American farmers.
Olivia’s job as an Ag Risk Consultant with Silveus gives her the opportunity to do what she love best, helping people. The reason she is so passionate about her job can be summed up in this familiar quote, “If you ate today, thank a farmer.” She believes that farmers are America’s unsung heroes, and she is thrilled to be a partner in making decisions to support their livelihood and gain peace of mind.
