In our ongoing Meet the Team feature, we put a name and a face on the amazing members of our team. Today we would like to introduce Silveus Insurance Group agent Blake Petree.

Where is your hometown and did you grow up around farming?

I grew up in Acuff, Texas a small town near Lubbock. My family ran a cotton farm and raised cattle. I know first-hand how important is to understand risks and strategies in the process of helping customers make insurance decisions that best fit their needs.

What are your clients asking you about today?

Being from Lubbock, the customers I work with are primarily cotton farmers, so I specialize in Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) for cotton. MPCI is an insurance policy offered through Silveus that can be purchased prior to planting and covers loss of crop yields from all types of natural causes. Our Pasture, Rangeland and Forage (PRF) insurance has also been a popular product with customers as the subsidized insurance option offsets the cost of additional livestock feed expenses in times of drought. Ranchers and hay producers continue to see the benefit of products like these.

What is your approach to customer service?

I am 100% committed to servicing my clients. I even make myself available to help out with paperwork for loans and things of that nature. It’s important for customers to know that they’re my priority and I’ll do what I can to ensure they’re aware of market developments as this leads to more-informed decision making.

How long have you been working at Silveus and what do you like best about your job?

I have been working at Silveus for five years. It’s satisfying to know that I’m a reliable resource to customers. I am honored that my industry knowledge along with the tools provided by Silveus can help customers and have a positive impact on their business.

What is one fun fact about yourself your co-workers don’t know?

I’m the proud father of 14-month-old twin girls, and we’re expecting a precious baby boy due in August!
