In our ongoing Meet the Team feature, we put a name and a face on the amazing members of our team. Today we would like to introduce Silveus Insurance Group agent Grant Frye.

Where is your hometown and did you grow up around farming?

I was born in Peoria, Illinois. Our farm had a range of commodities including turkeys, chickens, apples, corn, and soybeans. We also had a helicopter crop dusting business. I moved off the farm at an early age and decided to get back to my roots and make ag a part of my life again.

What are your clients asking you about today?

Clients want to know how to minimize risk and grow their business despite the challenges in agriculture right now. At Silveus, we arm farmers with up-to-date market developments. And by utilizing our proprietary software, we’re able to provide an enterprise view of risk and potential opportunities. This connected view allows for more informed decisions as it relates to insurance options.

What is your approach to customer service?

Because customer service plays such a huge role in my day-to-day, I seek to understand needs, build a shared vision of the future, and help customers clarify action as it concerns achieving agreed upon goals. By leveraging my ag knowledge and dedicating time to each client’s business, I’m able to understand their unique needs and address them accordingly.

How long have you been working at Silveus and what do you like best about your job?

I have been working in crop insurance for six years, and joined the Silveus team earlier this year when the company acquired Cargill Insurance. I like making the complex simple for my farmers and watching good decisions work out over the long haul for the success of their farms.

What are you most excited about?

As my customers plan for the upcoming season, I enjoy helping them learn about new products, including three that made a big impact in 2016: Price Flex, Pasture, Rangeland, and Forage (PRF) coverage, and Whole Farm Revenue Protection.

What is one fun fact about yourself your co-workers don’t know?

I am an avid wood-worker who loves building furniture for friends, family, and myself. Next project, Silveus interior furnishings…yes, no?
