In our ongoing Meet the Team feature, we put a name and a face on the amazing members of our team. Today we would like to introduce Silveus Insurance Group (Silveus) Agent Jared Clark

Where is your hometown and did you grow up around farming?

I didn’t grow up on a farm but farming and ranching were always dreams of mine. I was born in Lubbock, Texas, and raised mostly in San Antonio. I spent time in Dumas with my cousins Brent Clark and Gordon Clark as often as I could and they would put me to work on the farm. I went to college at Texas Tech in Lubbock where I studied agriculture and applied economics. Through school I held jobs that were in agriculture, working at a corn maze, as a hired hand for a nearby farmer, for the Texas Tech Rodeo Team and doing day work with cattle. As soon as I graduated from college I went to farm with my cousin Brent and did that for four years before coming to Silveus. My wife and I also have a cow/calf operation.

What are your clients asking you about today?

My clients want to know the best way to protect against their risk so that they can spend time farming rather than worrying about their business operations.

What is your approach to customer service?

The customer is our business and we treat them the way we would want to be treated; with hands-on customer service, teaching and informing them about crop insurance that best meets their needs.

How long have you been working at Silveus and what do you like best about your job?

I’ve been with Silveus for six years, and the best part is that I believe that we provide a great service. Our customers do not consider us sales people but trusted advisors – and that is our goal.

What are you most excited about?

I’m excited that there are always opportunities for our clients to protect their farms against risk and we can help them latch on to those opportunities, especially when as the next generation comes into farming.

What is one fun fact about yourself your co-workers don’t know?

I love the mountains and spending time hiking, skiing, and Alpine climbing. A mountain in western Argentina called Aconcagua at 22,838 feet tall is next on my bucket list. I would love to climb to the top!
